SPARSE+ Symposium 2025: Culture Get-Together. Shaping the Future of Rural Performing Arts in Europe.

This October, cultural practitioners, artists, and policymakers from across Europe will gather in Prague for a unique event dedicated to the vibrant world of rural creativity. The SPARSE+ Symposium 2025 will take place on October 8–9, 2025, at the renowned Archa+ venue in the heart of the Czech capital.
Organized by SPARSE+ in collaboration with Nová síť, the symposium offers two days of reflection, inspiration, and exchange at the intersection of rural creativity, international collaboration, and cultural policy. It provides a crucial platform for voices from diverse corners of Europe to come together, share perspectives, provoke dialogue, and co-create ideas for the future of performing arts in rural areas.
In an era where cultural initiatives increasingly seek to bridge urban and rural experiences, SPARSE+ Symposium 2025 will explore the transformative potential of the performing arts in connecting communities, challenging perceptions, and fostering inclusive, sustainable cultural ecosystems beyond city centers.
The event promises an engaging program of talks, panel discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening cross-border collaboration and supporting the growth of rural-based creative projects. Participants will also have the chance to engage directly with artists and cultural leaders working on the frontlines of rural cultural development.
Whether you’re an artist, cultural producer, policymaker, or researcher with an interest in rural arts and community-led cultural practice, the SPARSE+ Symposium 2025 is an essential meeting point to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and imagine new possibilities for the European performing arts scene.
Save the date — October 8–9, 2025, in Prague — and be part of the conversation shaping the future of rural creativity in Europe.
Registration will open in September.
We look forward to seeing you in Prague in October and wish you a wonderful summer!
The symposium is organized by Nová síť z.s. in cooperation with the international project SPARSE Plus, with the support of the Creative Europe programme and other partners.
