For the sixth year now, Nová síť z.s. has been running the ART-IN-RES residency program, which supports creative and managerial residencies in the Czech Republic with a focus on contemporary theater, dance, and other related performing arts genres.
ART-IN-RES RESIDENCY PROGRAM
The purpose of the ART-IN-RES program is to support cultural mobility and networking, the acquisition of experience, the exchange of knowledge, and the development of skills for all participants in the residencies. Within the framework of creative residencies, the program aims to support the creative process and the emergence of new projects. Management residencies offer a peaceful environment for intensive work on the development, evaluation, or planning of projects.
RESULTS OF THE ART-IN-RES CALL
The call was open to those interested in receiving support for a residency at a selected host organization from the www.artinres.cz portal. Artists, cultural managers, and other cultural professionals in the fields of contemporary theater, dance, and other related performing arts genres were eligible to apply for the program.
Beyond the scope of the call, one creative residency will be supported as a co-production in collaboration with the The REGIONS International Theatre Festival Hradec Králové.
Financial and administrative support is provided to both parties – residents and host organizations. A condition of the residency is the submission of a final report and photographs, which will be made available to the public on the ART-IN-RES website. The public presentation at the end of the residency is voluntary.
A total of 45 projects applied for the call. In cooperation with the host organizations, Nová síť decided to support 6 projects and 6 residential centers, and 1 residency will take place in cooperation with the REGIONS festival, with a total support amount of CZK 566,000.
