A project under supporting cooperation of authorial stage work, decentralisation of cultural activities, development of education and infrastructure in the field of cultural NGOs, close cooperation of regional cultural organisations in a form a of a network.
Contemporarily New Web runs namely these projects:
New Web is a non-governmental non-profit cultural organisation, an initiative which realises a project under the same name. Nová síť/ New Web is the only project of its kind in the Czech Republic which has supported the introduction of new theatre work in Czech regions fbeginning 2004 and has provided the background to a closely co-operating network of regional organisations. It thus meets the needs of authors, local culture organisations and the public in regions, for whom new theatre art is unknown and unavailable.
New Web supports artists in the field of new theatre art who work on a project basis outside the established network of repertoire-based theatres, are on the edge between motion, physical, dance, visual, non-verbal, mimic and experimental theatre and cross over genres, seeking new approaches in their work. Each year New Web selects a new group of projects which it offers for presentation in Czech and foreign regions. New Web provides administrative, production, organisational and financial support for these projects relating to reprises. It thus seeks to professionalize this type of creative activity.
It is the aim of the project to seek, on a systematic basis, smaller regional culture organisations and provide stable, closely co-operating networks of these organisations in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries. Thus an unique platform of live theatre art which provides an alternative to the existing network of “stone” theatres is established.
